The HUSKYLENS 2 WiFi Module is a dedicated wireless expansion accessory built specifically for the HUSKYLENS 2 AI vision sensor. Designed as a plug-and-play USB add-on, it provides the sensor with fast and reliable Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. With this upgrade, the HUSKYLENS 2 evolves from a wired device into a fully capable wireless node.

High-Performance Wireless Connectivity

The module incorporates the Wi-Fi 6 standard, delivering greatly improved network efficiency, reduced latency, and stronger data throughput compared to earlier generations. This ensures stable, real-time communication even in demanding network environments, eliminates the need for physical data cables, and enables flexible deployment of the HUSKYLENS 2 sensor.

Real-Time Wireless Image Transmission

This feature transforms the standard wired USB video output into a completely wireless stream. It enables real-time viewing of the HUSKYLENS 2 visual feed, remote image capture, and collection of recognition data from a distant terminal. It’s perfect for remote debugging, classroom-wide AI learning activities, and maker demonstrations where wired connections aren’t practical.

Simplified AI Model Management

Wireless connectivity enables effortless device management. New AI models from the Model Plaza can be downloaded and installed on the HUSKYLENS 2 by simply scanning a QR code, removing the need for a PC during updates. The module also supports Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware upgrades, keeping the device up to date with the latest features and security improvements.

Direct Large Language Model (LLM) Integration (In Development)

By operating as an MCP (Master Control Program) server, this WiFi module allows the HUSKYLENS 2 to function as a “perceptual front-end” for large models. It streams visual recognition outputs—such as object detection and classification—directly to an LLM in real time, significantly improving the model’s ability to perceive, interpret, and interact with the physical world.

Advanced AIoT Communication (In Development)

Upcoming features will add MQTT protocol support, enabling the HUSKYLENS 2 to operate as an MQTT server. This will allow smooth wireless data exchange with IoT controllers such as the ESP32 and UNIHIKER, supporting reliable machine-to-machine (M2M) communication in AIoT applications.

Functions labeled “In Development” will be rolled out gradually through upcoming HUSKYLENS 2 firmware updates. The WiFi module itself does not need separate updates—simply update the HUSKYLENS 2 firmware to access new features.
